This weekend marks the unofficial kick-off to summer — the Victoria Day long weekend. If your plans do not include the classic camping or cottaging, there are some other offerings in the Bradford area.

SATURDAY, MAY 19

Perennials Plus plant sale

8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bradford United Church, 66 Barrie St.

15th annual Perennials Plus plant sale. Great selection of peonies, irises, lilies, rhubarb, hostas and other delights for the garden. It is a fundraiser for the church and its programs.

Sin Bin Comedy Show

9-10:30 p.m.

Don Cherry’s Sports Grill, 100 Dissette St., Bradford

Featuring Leonard Chan (Winnipeg Comedy Festival, JFL42), Jennifer McAuliffe (SheDevil NYC Festival, CBC Comedy), and Amish Patel (Kevin Hart's LOL Network, 2017 Comedy Brawl finalist).

Along with Kate Barron (2017 Comedy Brawl champion) and KJ Preston (2017 Comedy Brawl finalist).

Flag raising for Khalsa Day

In front of the Bradford West Gwillimbury Courthouse, 57 Holland St. E.
Khalsa Day marks the anniversary of the founding of the Sikh Order of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh. In celebrating this significant holiday, the Sikh community provides Bradford residents with an opportunity to experience and share in the educational, cultural and religious significance of this very important day.
