They’re here.

Tickets for the 66th annual Bradford Lions Club Mammoth Draw for $115,222.15 in vehicle and cash prizes are now available.

Some things have stayed the same for 2019.

There are still only 1,700 tickets printed.

Grand prize is once again a brand-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, with the second-last ticket pulled in the elimination-style draw winning a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. And there are cash prizes of $500 for the first, 100th, 200th, 300th, etc. tickets drawn, and $1,000 to $2,000 for the 1,691st to 1,698th tickets pulled from the drum at the event on Sept. 7, 2019.

Tickets will once again admit two to the draw and social evening that includes a beef buffet dinner, social gaming with professional dealers, dancing to DJ Vinnie Vegas, and a Garth Brooks tribute Fresh Horses with Les Smith.

And there are three early-bird draws for $1,000 each – on July 1, Aug. 17 (Carrot Fest), and Aug. 24.

But one thing has changed. The price.

Tickets have gone up, from $100 each, to $120.

“After 20-some odd years, costs go up,” explained Lions Club member Bob Pegg. “The cost of food, the costs of the vehicles – it was necessary to do that.”

The club is hoping that ticket buyers will be understanding and support the draw, which is a major fundraiser for the Lions.

The Mammoth Draw has raised money for new ball diamonds and the BWG Leisure Centre’s Lions Aquatics Centre, the fieldhouse at Henderson Memorial Park, Southlake Regional Health Centre, and many other causes – from minor sports and public speaking contests in schools, to the BWG Santa Claus Parade, Helping Hand Food Bank, Bradford Community Meals, and Lions Dog Guide program.

Tickets are available at selected retail outlets in Bradford, including Pet Valu, Decorator’s Edge, Bradford Print Shoppe, Bradford Rental Sales and Service, Village Inn Bradford, The Flower Merchant, The Car Guy, Leo & John’s, Canadian Tire, Sobeys, and Currie Truck Service – or from any Lions Club member, or by calling 905-775-9170.

Pegg is encouraging residents to get their tickets soon. After all, there are just two weeks or so left until the first early-bird draw at the BWG Canada Day celebrations. And in previous years, the Mammoth Draw tickets have sold out before September.
