Baseball scores: Massive wins and a diving out launch new season

Minor baseball is back! BradfordToday, in partnership with the Bradford Minor Baseball Association, brings you a regular feature highlighting local baseball scores

All games took place the week of May 20-25. 

Softball

Under-10
Kumi Canada started its season with a thrilling walk-off victory over the Bradford Academy of Music, winning 10-9. For Team Humi, Logan led the way with excellent hitting and a great defensive play for an out at second base. Great pitching by Claire and Alexis.

Vince’s Market started its season off with a huge 15-5 win over EGMSA1. Leah and Nathan were in top form when it came to pitching, with both throwing scoreless innings. While every player got a hit, Nick brought several players home with a couple of big hits.

Under-12
Dissette Animal Hospital edged out Roy Gordon Law in a 9-8 win.
Plays of the night for Dissette Animal Hospital included Desmond hitting a great double with bases loaded for two runs. James, the catcher, threw an amazing ball to Shelby at third who tagged a runner out trying to steal. Great pitching by both Trinity and Gregory.

Under-16

Be Well Chiropractic bested Vaughan Chrysler 22-12.
Be Well Chiropractic players of the game:

  • Alex F. with three hits in four at-bats with three RBI on two doubles and a home run
  • Keegan T. who had four hits in four at-bats earning six RBI on three doubles and a single
  • Paige M. went three-for-three, earning three RBI and scored four times on a double, two singles, and a walk

Under-20

The Bradford Navy Team kept its spirits high with a 10-8 win over WSSA 1.

Hardball

7-under
Great first game for Bradford Curling Club with a 17-7 win over Innisfil. All team members made it on base. Offence was led by Cooper B. with two doubles, with Jackson S., Noah H. and Aidan C. scoring runs. Evan L. did a great job at lead off. On defence, Evan H. had a diving out at third base, while Logan L. was great at catcher, and Carter S. with excellent pickup on a ground ball as pitcher in the top of the third.

9-under

Ryan’s Landscaping beat out A&W Voltage 12-7.
Ryan’s Landscaping player Ben D. had a triple and Noah B. scored a two-run home run!
