The Barrie Colts had their Ontario Hockey League season come to an end Sunday night after being shut out by the Oshawa Generals in Game 6.
The Colts lost 3-0 to the Generals at Sadlon Arena to fall four games to two in the best-of-seven first-round series.
Oshawa defenceman Luca D'Amato opened the scoring five minutes into the first period.
Luke Torrance staked the Generals to a 2-0 lead nearing the midway point of the second frame.
Former Colts captain Connor Punnett then iced the win with a shorthanded goal into an empty net in the final minute of the third period.
Generals goalie Jacob Oster turned aside all 32 shots he faced to earn the shutout. He has the lowest goals-against average in the playoffs at 1.94.
Barrie netminder Sam Hillebrandt stopped 34 of 36 shots and had the highest save percentage in the playoffs at .938 as of Sunday night.
Looking ahead, the Colts hold the No. 5 draft pick in the upcoming OHL Priority Selection, which begins Friday.
