Hockey Night in Bradford hits the ice again to support SickKids

Organizers say outcome was beyond their expectations with $8,500 raised

Santa rocked it on Saturday's "Hockey Night in Bradford" with amazing community support and turnout for the fourth annual SickKids fundraiser sponsored by Mortgage Partners.

South Simcoe police came prepared, laced up and put on a great performance against the Bradford Bandits, organizers said.

After a tough and fast-paced one-hour game, they fell short with a final score of 7-3 in favour of the Bandits at the BWG Leisure Centre.

Captain Dejesus did a wonderful job yet again in putting the teams together.

With a total donation count inclusive of funds and toy donations, funds raised were around $8,500, which will be delivered to the SickKids Hospital personally by Dejesus and Kash Toor of Mortgage Partners this week.

Organizers said the outcome was beyond their expectations given they hadn't been able to continue Hockey Night in Bradford for the past two years due to the COVID shutdown.

Organizers said they hope to expand the event next year by providing a free family skate prior to the game, and more giveaways.

A special thanks was sent to the South Simcoe police in showing support for the event.
