15-year-old accused of assaulting a police officer

INNISFIL - A 15-year-old boy is facing several charges after a South Simcoe Police Service officer was assaulted during an arrest.

On Monday, June 18, 2018 around 3 a.m., officers were called to an Innisfil home for a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they found the suspect sleeping on the couch. Investigation revealed that he had breached terms of a probation order.

During the course of the arrest, an officer was allegedly assaulted. The accused was charged with assault a peace officer and two counts of breach of probation.

He was held for a bail hearing. The officer was physically unhurt.
