A 22-year-old man is dead after a workplace accident that occurred at Gwillimdale Farms in Bradford West Gwillimbury on Aug. 30.
Police say emergency crews responded to the call after the man was injured in a piece of equipment. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Ministry of Labour and Coroner attended and foul play is not suspected.
When BradfordToday reached out to Gwillimdale Farms regarding the death, they said they could not provide any further details on the incident.
"Gwillimdale Farms is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our valued team members from a tragic accident that occurred on Aug. 30, 2022," said a representative of Gwillimdale Farms. "During this time of sadness and grief, we ask that you continue to respect the privacy of the employee’s family, as well the privacy of all our team members who were impacted by this incident. Gwillimdale Farms continues to cooperate fully with the Ministry of Labour during its investigations. However, and as a result of those ongoing investigations, we will not be offering any further comments at this time."
