6 people arrested during Innisfil, Barrie drug bust

Officers seized crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and LSD

The South Simcoe Police Service has charged six people and made the service's largest seizure of crystal methamphetamine.

In the spring of 2022, the Street Crime Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking activity in the Town of Innisfil and Barrie. On Sept. 14, 2022, police made six arrests and executed a search warrant at an Innisfil home and a motor vehicle.

As a result of the search warrants, police seized a large quantity of drugs including over 1.2 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and over 9 ounces of cocaine. Additional drugs were also located and seized including fentanyl and LSD. Police also seized a quantity of cash, a conducted energy weapon, and drug paraphernalia.

Six suspects were arrested without incident.

As a result of the investigation, police charged Jamie Martin, 53; Joshua Martin, 38, both of Innisfil; and Eric Blais, 35, of Barrie. The charges include multiple trafficking and drug possession charges and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused were held for bail hearings.

Charged with drug possession and released were Anthony Burke, 35, of London; Sara Muir, 42, of Innisfil; and Susana Sobey, 50, of Barrie.
