Arrest warrant issued in Friday's stabbing in downtown Bradford

39-year-old of no fixed address faces assault, weapons charges

South Simcoe Police say they have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect following a stabbing call in downtown Bradford on Friday.

At around 11:40 a.m., police were called after a 54-year-old man was stabbed in the face at an apartment near Holland Street West and Simcoe Road.  

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said in a release.

The suspect had fled the scene.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant has been obtained for a 39-year-old man of no fixed address.

He is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, police said.

Police say they have determined this was an isolated incident and deemed there is no threat to public safety.
