INNISFIL - A 33-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with assault and assault with a weapon after South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a neighbourhood Christmas party.

On Sunday, Dec 22, 2019, at 12:15 a.m., police responded to a 9-1-1 call from a home in the 25th Sideroad and 10th Line area of Innisfil. Investigation revealed that two people at a neighbourhood Christmas party were [allegedly] assaulted. One incident involved a knife and scissors.

The accused was taken to hospital and treated for a minor injury. No one else was hurt.

A 33-year-old Innisfil woman was charged with assault and two counts of assault with a weapon. She was held for a bail hearing and subsequently released.
