Assault, weapons charges laid against two Innisfil men

INNISFIL - South Simcoe Police Service officers have charged two men after police responded to a weapons dangerous call in Innisfil.

On Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, around 2:15 p.m., police were called to a plaza on Innisfil Beach Road after a man said he had been assaulted and threatened by two suspects who were known to him. The victim drove away and the suspects followed. 

Police responded and two men were arrested a short distance away. A search of their vehicle turned up several items which were seized by police including two BB guns and a small pocket knife.

As a result of investigation, an 18-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Assault, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Uttering Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. 

A 20-year-old Innisfil man was charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. The accused were released with a January court date. 

The victim was unhurt.
