Any auto body and mechanical repair shops that may have worked on a dark Toyota truck or SUV recently are being asked to contact police, as investigators continue to search for the driver involved in a fatal pedestrian hit and run on Davis Drive in East Gwillimbury.

The collision, which claimed the life of a 70-year-old man, occurred between 9 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 10 a.m. Sept. 28 on Davis between Warden Avenue and Bales Drive.

Investigators are trying to locate a male who was wearing reflective clothing and driving a green Toyota vehicle, which is believed to have stopped in the immediate area after this incident.

York Regional Police are now calling on auto body and mechanics shops who may have had contact with this individual or the vehicle to contact investigators. This appeal is extended to shops throughout York Region and the Greater Toronto Area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the major collision investigation unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7704, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online
