A Barrie man is facing robbery charges following a masked stick-up involving an "edged weapon" at a Collingwood restaurant Wednesday night.
Collingwood-Blue Mountains OPP officers responded to a call around 7:50 p.m. on April 10 at the Hurontario Street business
Police say a man wearing a disguise entered the restaurant with an unspecified weapon, threatened staff and demanded cash.
The male took the money from the register and fled the scene on foot, according to police.
Investigators worked the scene while other officers searched the area for the suspect. The OPP canine unit was also called in to help.
Police say an officer arrested a male matching the suspect's description a short distance away. Cash believed to be from the robbery was recovered from the suspect.
A 37-year-old Barrie man has been charged with robbery with a weapon and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence. His name was not released.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear in Collingwood court at a later date.
