Bradford couple face multiple charges in shopping cart purse theft investigation

The theft occurred at a department store on Sunday April 7 and led police to other suspected stolen property

South Simcoe Police Service officers have arrested a Bradford couple following the theft of a purse from a shopping cart. The theft occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2019 during the noon hour at a department store on Holland Street West in Bradford.

On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, police arrested a man and a woman and executed a search warrant at a Bradford home. As a result of investigation, a number of charges were laid and stolen property recovered.

A 30-year-old Bradford woman is charged with:

  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (2 counts)
  • Breach of probation (3 counts)
  • Use of a credit card
A 33-year-old Bradford man is charged with:
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (3 counts)
  • Use of credit card (2 counts)


The accused were released with future court dates.
