A driver has been charged after an SUV rear-ended a semi-truck this morning.
According to a news release, at around 5:50 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service were called to a two-vehicle collision on County Road 88 east of Highway 400 in Bradford West Gwillimbury.
Once on scene, police determined an SUV travelling westbound on County Road 88 rear-ended a westbound semi-truck. The driver of the SUV was placed under arrest, police said in a news release.
After an investigation, Giuseppe Schiafone, 28, of Bradford was charged with operation while impaired, and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol.
His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
The accused was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released.
None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
