CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES - On Nov. 13, 2020 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP was patrolling on Highway 7 near White Rock Road when a vehicle was observed travelling at 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The ensuing vehicle stop resulted in the 25-year-old driver from Bradford-West Gwillimbury being charged with race a motor vehicle - excessive speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
The driver's licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle was towed from the scene to be impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Dec. 1, 2020.
