Charges laid in residential break-in, theft in Bradford

Search warrants were executed on a vehicle, a storage locker and at a residence, where a 55-year-old suspect was arrested, police say

A Newmarket man has been charged in relation to a Sept. 23 break-in and theft at a Bradford residence.

Police responded at about 8 p.m. to the report of a break and enter in progress at a home near Melbourne Drive and Miller Park Avenue. The residents were not home at the time. The suspect fled before the arrival of police, who learned money and property had been stolen.

Search warrants were executed on a vehicle, a storage locker and at a residence, where a suspect was arrested. The stolen property was recovered and returned to its owner.

Richard Palmer, 55, has been charged with break and enter, mischief under $5,000, theft over $5,000, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was released with a future court date.
