NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE
*****************************
On Sunday, May 10, 2020 at approximately 5:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to a single vehicle collision on St. Johns Road in Innisfil.

A female driver was arrested near the scene for impaired operation. She was transported to North Division where breath tests resulted in readings over the legal limit.

As a result of the investigation, 22-year-old Klaudia Artimiwa of Mississauga was charged with impaired operation, over 80, drug possession (suspected cocaine) and fail to remain at the scene of a collision. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.

Thank you to the citizens who called 911 to report this collision. Canada Road Safety Week starts tomorrow and we will be focussing on the 'Big Four' contributors to collisions that often cause injury to people. These include speeding, aggressive driving, distracted driving and impaired driving.

Luckily, the driver in the above occurrence suffered only minor injuries and no one else was hurt.
