UPDATE (9:35 a.m.): Charges are pending in the crash that closed Highway 400 through parts of Barrie and Innisfil Friday morning.

The OPP's highway safety division is reporting two vehicles were involved in the incident, and one rolled over. They say the first vehicle is alleged to have been travelling "erratically," leading to the collision.

The cleanup continues.

A serious crash closed Highway 400 in both directions between Innisfil Beach Road and Barrie's Mapleview Drive for part of Friday morning, the OPP reports.

Also on X, the Ministry of Transportation’s 511Ontario traffic alert account has posted that all lanes are closed in each direction.

Emergency crews received the call around 7:30 a.m. Photos from the scene also show an Ornge air ambulance had been dispatched.
