The South Simcoe Police Service is seeking witnesses following a fail to remain collision that caused extensive damage to a guardrail in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

On Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police responded to a report of a fail to remain collision on Canal Road between Tornado Drive and Line 5. Upon arrival, officers located a white, Ford F-150 pickup truck. Police searched the area for a driver or any passengers, but none was located. Investigation determined the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed on Canal Road, failed to make a turn, and drove into the guardrail. The collision damaged approximately 400 feet of guardrail, causing the closure of Canal Road for repairs from Highway 400 to Line 5 for all vehicles except local traffic.

The investigation is ongoing.
