Police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged hit-and-run with a cyclist this morning in Barrie.
At about 6:40 a.m., Sept. 6, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Leacock and Edgehill drives, where a woman on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle, whose driver fled the scene.
Police say the cyclist, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle involved was a dark-coloured SUV, possibly a Mitsubishi, and it was last seen northbound on Leacock Drive. Barrie police say the vehicle probably has damage to the front passenger-side mirror and the front passenger-side fender.
Police are asking anyone with security, doorbell or dash-camera footage in the area of Leacock Drive or Eden Drive to contact the investigating officer at [email protected] or 705-725-7025, ext. 2712.
