Drug trafficking investigation in Alliston nets suspected drugs, weapons

Over 30 grams of suspected cocaine and 10 oxycodone pills were seized along with a prohibited weapon and cash

The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest on March 1, 2024, in the Town of New Tecumseth in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

On March 1, 2024, members of the Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit, along with Collingwood Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Victoria Street in Alliston. As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 33 grams of cocaine, 10 oxycodone pills, $4,850 in Canadian currency, three cellphones, items used for packaging/scale, a prohibited weapon (switchblade), 12 assorted weapons.

The following individual was arrested and charged with the following offences.

Isaiah Hrynkiw, 39 years of age, from the Town of New Tecumseth.

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine
  • Traffick in Schedule 1 substance - cocaine
  • Traffick in Schedule 1 substance - other drugs
  • Unauthorized possession of weapon
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused party is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on April 11, 2024.
