Update 9 p.m:
There were no people inside the vehicle when it became submerged. Police say the driver jumped out as the vehicle was going into the river.
The driver is facing a careless driving charge. No injuries have been reported.

Emergency crews are on scene at Canal and Pumphouse Road recovering a white Lexus vehicle that submerged into the nearby Holland River at around 7:30 this evening.
It is unclear how the vehicle ended up in the water or if anyone was inside.
