Erratic driving leads to impaired charges for Innisfil man

INNISFIL - On Saturday, May 1, 2021 at approximately 4:20 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called regarding a vehicle driving erratically northbound on the 25th Sideroad in Innisfil.  

When police arrived on scene, they located the vehicle parked facing westbound in the southbound lane of traffic. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to North Division.  

As a result of the investigation, 67-year-old Wolfgang Lausch of Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He was released with a future court date.

Driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and we're grateful to the members of the public who call 911 to report such incidents.
