Festive RIDE campaign kicks off Thursday

South Simcoe Police Service and our Simcoe County Policing Authority partners are launching a collaborative Festive RIDE campaign.

The campaign launch will take place on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the south parking lot of Georgian Downs located on 5th Sideroad north of Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil.

South Simcoe Police Service officers will be working in partnership with OPP Aurora, Central Region Traffic, Collingwood OPP, Nottawasaga OPP, Barrie Police Service and Rama Police Service to enact a vigorous RIDE campaign in targeted areas throughout Simcoe County on Nov. 28, 29 and 30, 2019.

RIDE programs by South Simcoe Police Service are part of our year-round traffic safety initiatives aimed at removing impaired drivers from our roads. Enhanced RIDE checks will be conducted throughout the holiday season.  

We urge our residents to work with us by planning your ride either in a taxi or public transit, arranging to stay over at the party or appointing a designated driver. Call 9-1-1 if you see a suspected impaired driver.
