Honda Civic stolen from driveway of north-end Barrie home

Police say four-door car was taken from Ottaway Avenue residence sometime between 4 p.m. Wednesday and 1:37 a.m. this morning

Barrie police are investigating after a Honda Civic was stolen from the driveway of an Ottaway Avenue home sometime in the last 20 hours. 

An officer responded to the north-end home this morning after the vehicle owner made the report. 

Ottaway Avenue is located near St. Vincent Street and Highway 400. 

From the investigation that followed, police have determined the 2013 four-door Honda Civic, which is grey in colour and has Ontario licence plate DARV558, was taken from the driveway sometime between 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 and 1:37 a.m. this morning.

Police say the owner was in possession of both sets of keys.

"A canvass of the immediate area revealed that there was no home surveillance video available to assist with potentially identifying who was responsible for this theft," police stated in a news release. 

Police are requesting the assistance of the public in locating this car and if anyone knows where it is or sees it abandoned, they are asked contact city police at 705-725-7025.
