Innisfil man accused of assaulting police

INNISFIL - A 66-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon and assault with intent to resist arrest after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a recent domestic dispute call in Innisfil.

Once on scene, police learned that a woman had been injured after an object was thrown at her by her spouse. [It is alleged that] the accused assaulted police and resisted arrest. He was eventually taken into custody, charged and released. The victim did not require hospital treatment.
