Innisfil man charged with criminal harassment following 'unwanted contact'

A 28-year-old Innisfil man was charged with criminal harassment and utter threats after police received a call regarding unwanted contact.

On Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, police spoke to the victim who said she had received repeated, unwanted communication from a man known to her. As a result of investigation, a 28-year-old Innisfil man was charged with criminal harassment and utter threats to cause bodily harm.

The man turned himself in at North Division on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020 and was placed under arrest. He was charged and subsequently released with a future court date.  

Police discussed a safety plan with the victim and Victim Services was offered. The man's name is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Criminal harassment, more commonly known as stalking, can be defined as harassing behaviour including repeatedly following, communicating with or watching over one’s home. If you are a victim or know someone who is, we urge you to report it to police.
