INNISFIL - A 23-year-old Innisfil man is facing numerous charges after South Simcoe Police Service officers responded to a domestic dispute call.
On Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019 around 9:15 a.m., police were called regarding a domestic dispute in Cookstown.
A woman reported she had been assaulted and threatened by her husband who was armed with an axe. When police arrived, the suspect had left the home prompting a search by officers including the Canine Unit.
The suspect was eventually located in a nearby field and surrendered without incident.
A 23-year-old Innisfil man was charged with nine offences including two counts of assault, assault with a weapon and utter threats. He was held for a bail hearing. The victim did not require medical treatment.
