Lamborghini driver charged with stunt driving in south Barrie

The driver of a high-end Lamborghini sports car has been charged with multiple offences after being cornered by numerous police cruisers in a south-end Barrie plaza Sunday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police allege the vehicle was being driven erratically on Big Bay Point Road in Barrie.

Police could be seen surrounding the bright yellow car in the retail plaza at Big Bay Point Road and Prince William Way at 6:15 p.m. on March 17.

A 40-year-old Barrie resident has been charged with stunt driving, having no vehicle insurance, using unauthorized licence plates, having no vehicle permit and resisting a peace officer.

None of the allegations have been tested in court.

The vehicle was impounded for 14 days and the driver was handed a 30-day licence suspension.
