It was five o’clock somewhere — just not in Bradford.
South Simcoe police responded to a two-vehicle collision near the Miller Park Avenue and Melbourne Drive intersection Feb. 22, at about 6:30 a.m. One of the vehicles had struck a light pole.
A motorist was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and was subsequently transported to hospital with minor injuries. The other driver was not injured.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Bradford man was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired — Excess Blood Alcohol, and Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available.
His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven.
Coincidentally, a second collision also occurred nearby along Melbourne that morning. However, police consider that one to be unrelated and minor in nature.
