Motorcyclist charged with impaired driving

A 49-year-old Bradford man is charged with impaired driving and driving while under suspension following a vehicle stop early this morning.

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at 12:10 a.m., a South Simcoe Police Service officer observed a motorcycle driving erratically in the John Street West and Church Street area of Bradford.

Investigation revealed the driver was currently subject to two province-wide driving prohibitions.

When the officer conducted a traffic stop, he detected an odour of alcohol and a roadside breath test was conducted. The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired driving and transported to South Division.

After further testing, the man was charged with impaired driving and over 80. He was also charged with two counts of driving while under suspension.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his motorcycle was impounded.

He was released with an August court date.
