One person arrested this morning after 'incident' at Nantyr Shores (12:15 p.m. update)

12:15 p.m. update from South Simcoe Police:
A youth was charged with mischief following an incident at an Innisfil high school.

On Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 around 9:30 a.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were called to Nantyr Shores Secondary School on Anna Maria Avenue for a report of three youths passing around a firearm. The school was placed in lockdown. Police arrived and one youth was arrested and taken into custody. A second youth was arrested and released at the scene. The incident is still under investigation. Police recovered a pellet gun.

A youth was charged with mischief. The lockdown was subsequently lifted. No one was injured.

The Simcoe County District School Board is sending a letter to families regarding the incident.

INNISFIL — One person was arrested this morning following an "incident" at Nantyr Shores Secondary School in Innisfil. 

South Simcoe police officers responded to the Alcona high school, located on Anna Maria Avenue, around 9:30 a.m.

"The situation has been resolved and no one was injured," police said in a news release. 

One person was placed under arrest.

Students and staff are safe, according to police.
