One person injured in 5-vehicle pileup in Barrie's west end

A five-vehicle pileup snarled traffic at Dunlop Street West and Townline Road in Barrie on Wednesday afternoon. Only one minor injury reported by police.

A five-vehicle pileup is snarling traffic this afternoon after a collision at the intersection of Dunlop Street West and Townline Road at the western edge of Barrie.

Police received the call at 2:27 p.m. on April 17.

One person was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No serious injuries were reported.

“It’s more of an inconvenience for people right now because of the time of day, as it’s going to slow traffic in the area as towing crews are on scene,” Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon said.

There is no word on whether any charges will be laid.
