Members of the Nottawasaga detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Civics hockey team faced off against students from the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School Stingers for a charity hockey game Wednesday afternoon at the Tottenham Community Centre.

This was the first time since before the pandemic that the fun rivalry between the teams has taken place. The fast-paced game was a big hit with fans in the crowds cheering on both teams as they played in support of the Tottenham Food Bank. All proceeds raised will be donated, along with a quantity of non-perishable food items.

For anyone that missed the game but would like to contribute, please consider bringing non-perishable food items or cash donations to the Tottenham Food Bank.

A big thank you to our media partners for attending the event and capturing this awesome community event. The Nottawasaga OPP welcomes any occasion to proactively engage with youth within the community and want to extend our sincere appreciation to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School for this opportunity. In holding events such as these, the hope is that we can build a foundation for students to have positive interactions with police.
