Pair of Mississauga residents will appear in Bradford court over drug related charges

TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH, ADJALA-TOSORONTIO & ESSA TOWNSHIPS –  On Sunday, May 17, 2020, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for service involving a dispute over drugs in Alliston.  

Officers commenced an investigation and have laid numerous charges as a result.  

A 36-year-old female and a 33-year-old male from Mississauga have both been charged with:  

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for a purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine, contrary to s.5(2) CDSA; 
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Opioid (other than heroin), contrary to s.5(2) CDSA; and  
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to s.354(1)(a) CC.   

Names of accused and court dates are withheld to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.  

The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on July 16, 2020.
