A Penetanguishene resident has been charged after police seized cocaine and recovered two stolen vehicles Monday.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP received information about a stolen vehicle in the area of Belisle Avenue in Penetanguishene. Officers attended the location and recovered the vehicle, police said in a news release.

The investigation led police to a second vehicle on nearby Hewson Street, and that vehicle was also determined to have been stolen.

Later that afternoon, a search warrant was executed at the Hewson Street location. The second stolen vehicle was recovered and cocaine was seized.

A male who was wanted on a warrant for a previous investigation was located in the residence. Police said he was arrested and released on scene.

One person, whose name has not been released, has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine). The accused was released and is set to appear in court at a later date in Midland.
