Police hope to identify driver in hit-and-run investigation (update: suspect identified)

Incident occurred in the Holland Street Square Plaza parking lot on December 17

Update

The South Simcoe Police Service advises that the driver has been identified and the investigation remains ongoing.

Following is the original release issued on Tuesday:

South Simcoe Police Service officers are seeking the public's help in a fail to remain collision investigation in Bradford.

On Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at approximately 10 a.m., a Jeep Wrangler struck a parked vehicle in the Holland Street Square Plaza parking lot located on Holland Street West near Langford Boulevard. The Jeep driver exited his vehicle and quickly assessed the damage to both vehicles before fleeing the scene.

The Jeep Wrangler is described as dark-coloured, four-door, with black rims, a spare tire mounted on the back, an antenna on the passenger side hood and a white hitch plug with black writing.

The driver is described as male, white, in his early 20s, with longer dark hair wearing a red hoodie, black pants, and red, black and white Nike shoes.

Police are releasing security camera images in an attempt to identify the driver.
