At around 3 am Monday morning, police were called to the popular 3 Scoops Ice Cream Shop in downtown Bradford after a report of a broken window.

South Simcoe Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Long-time shop owner Cheryl LeBLond said this is the second attempted break-in at her shop, not including the stolen benches out in the front of the store last year.

Perpetrators were able to break the outer glass of a double-pane window.

“The slushie machine actually saved me,” said LeBlond, pointing to her slurpee machine conveniently located directly behind the smashed window.

LeBlond requested help from family and friends to clean up the mess due to ongoing health issues afflicting LeBlond.

Local residents and friend Pamela Pereira has started a go fund me account for LeBlond to help purchase a new surveilance system.  Donations can be made here.
