The South Simcoe Police Service recently laid the following impaired driving charges:
On Saturday, March 19, 2022, at approximately 4:48 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in the area of St. John's Road and Innisfil Beach Road in Innisfil. Once at the scene, police located a vehicle with its front driver-side tire hanging over a driveway culvert. The uninjured driver was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, 60-year-old Kim Donnelly of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired, Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand and Operation While Prohibited. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for 45 days. The accused was released with a future court date.
On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at approximately 11:15 p.m., the South Simcoe Police Service responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Jans Boulevard in Innisfil. The driver was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
As a result of the investigation, 25-year-old Alyse Shaw of Innisfil was charged with Operation While Impaired by Drug. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.
March 20-26, 2022 is National Impaired Driving Prevention Week. Impaired driving, whether by alcohol or drugs, continues to kill or injure more Canadians than any other crime. It also remains the single most important factor contributing to serious road crashes. Please make the right choice for road safety. Drive sober or don't drive.
