The first week of the South Simcoe Police Service All Hands On Deck safety campaign for back to school 2022 has wrapped up.

Overall, officers participating in the initiative report the majority of people were driving responsibly. Police provided traffic safety education to motorists and laid a number of charges, including:
    •    Driver charged with dangerous driving after a school bus was rear-ended at red light. Minor injuries to driver
    •    Driver charged with speeding 95 km/h in posted 60 km/h Community Safety Zone

Much of the week went safely and smoothly, thanks to the majority of our residents. Please continue to drive with caution and keep a watchful eye for students in school zones. We remind you to stop for school buses and put away your phones while driving. All Hands On Deck continues to Sept. 16, 2022.
