RIDE check results in impaired charge for Bradford woman

A 45-year-old Bradford woman was charged with Over 80 after being stopped at a RIDE check.

On Sunday, March 1, 2020, South Simcoe Police Service officers set up a RIDE program at Miller Park and West Park in Bradford.  At 8:20 p.m., police detected an odour of alcohol on a driver and conducted a roadside screening device test which resulted in a fail.  The driver was placed under arrest and transported to South Division where breath tests results were over the legal limit.

45-year-old Jennifer Galdiks of Bradford was charged with Over 80.  Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle impounded for seven days.  She was released with a future court date.

RIDE programs by South Simcoe Police Service are part of our year-round traffic safety initiatives aimed at removing impaired drivers from our roads. Over the course of 2019, we more than doubled the number of RIDE Programs with spot checks every two days. Public safety, especially on our roads remains our top priority.
