NEWS RELEASE
SOUTH SIMCOE POLICE
*************************
With the Christmas shopping season fast approaching, the South Simcoe Police Service is reminding residents to take steps to protect their parcels after a recent report of a porch pirate theft.

A resident reported a package was taken from her porch in the area of Centre Street and Bingham Street in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Police are urging residents to help reduce the risk of theft by following these steps:
  • Have packages delivered to your work (if allowed), a relative or trusted neighbour who will be home
  • Track deliveries online to know when they will arrive and plan to be there when the package is delivered
  • Request the package be left out of sight, at a side or rear door
  • Remove packages from your porch quickly once they arrive

We also encourage residents to report suspicious activity to police immediately and if you have a package stolen, report it to us.
