The South Simcoe Police Service is advising the public that vehicle thefts continue to occur in our area.

Police are providing the following tips to help reduce the risk of your vehicle being stolen:
    •    Park your vehicle in the garage, if possible.
    •    Don't leave your key fobs by the front door. Store them far away from your vehicle or in Faraday bags.
    •    Use a steering wheel or pedal locking device.
    •    Invest in outdoor security cameras for your home.
    •    Install after market products like a GPS tracking device and an onboard data port lock to prevent thieves from cloning your key.
    •    Inspect your vehicle regularly and call police if you notice potential tracking devices.
    •    Call 911 immediately to report suspicious people or activity.
