Barrie police are investigating after a stolen vehicle crashed into Shroomyz on Dunlop Street West.

Barrie police are investigating after a stolen vehicle was driven through the window of a downtown shop early this morning.

Officers responded to the call shortly after midnight, Sept. 6, at 15 Dunlop St. W.

Police found a single vehicle had crashed through the front window of Shroomyz.

“Barrie police are currently on scene securing the premises pending a search warrant to be able to go into the building to continue the investigation,” Barrie police communications co-ordinator Jennett May said.

Police say the vehicle was determined to have been stolen Tuesday in Toronto.

No injuries were reported and the driver of the vehicle has not been located. A canine unit was used in the search.

The City of Barrie’s engineering department will be on scene today to see if there are any structural safety concerns with the building.
