Three suspects were found with a replica gun and various break and enter tools after an attempted break and enter at a business near Yonge Street and Green Lane, according to police.
York Regional Police responded to a call in the area at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 28. When they arrived, they found three suspects in a vehicle. But when they attempted to arrest them, the suspects fled on foot.
Officers were able to locate all three nearby and make an arrest. Now, Sukhjit Dhillon, 47, Navjot Singh, 26, and Gurwinder Singh, 26, all from Brampton, are facing a number of charges including:
- Break and enter with intent
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Mischief under $5,000
- Possession of break and enter tools
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence
Gurwinder Singh was also charged with:
- Obstructing a peace officer
- Dangerous operation
- Flight from peace officer
- Failure to stop after accident
- Fail to comply with court crder x3
Police said they found break and enter tools and a replica gun in the vehicle. An investigation also determined that the vehicle was stolen.
York Regional Police has warned about a rise in break and enters throughout the region recently. It said shorter daylight hours are a contributing factor.
