The South Simcoe Police Service laid the following impaired driving charges this weekend, including three separate arrests within 30 minutes on Saturday.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at approximately 5:10 p.m., police responded to a citizen-initiated driving complaint regarding an ATV in the area of Gilford Road near Lake Simcoe. As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old male was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at approximately 5:30 p.m., police were conducting a RIDE program in the area of 25th Sideroad and Big Bay Point Road in the Town of Innisfil. As a result of a RIDE check, a 68-year-old man from Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
On Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at approximately 5:40 p.m., police were conducting a RIDE program in the area of 25th Sideroad and Big Bay Point Road in the Town of Innisfil. As a result of a RIDE check, a 50-year-old male from Innisfil was charged with operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
On Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, at approximately 10:17 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the area of 25th Sideroad and Line 9 in the Town of Innisfil. As a result of an investigation, a 37-year-old male from Newmarket was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol and dangerous operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.
