Tip from caller leads to impaired charges for Bradford driver

South Simcoe Police are thanking a caller who reported a suspected impaired driver over the weekend and encouraged others to call 911 when they see someone they believe may be driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs.

Police say on Saturday at around 3:30 p.m. they responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver travelling on Line 12 from Yonge Street in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Police located the vehicle with the engine running parked in the driveway of a residence. The driver was placed under arrest.  

After an investigation, a 45-year-old man from Bradford was charged with operation while impaired, and operation while impaired — excess blood alcohol.

"Thank you to the citizen who called us about this incident. Impaired driving is a crime in progress," South Simcoe Police said in a news release. "Together, we can make a difference in road safety and help everyone arrive alive."
