In January of 2018, officers in the Criminal Investigation Bureau began an investigation involving an 18-year-old local female victim who had been recruited into human trafficking.

Through the investigation, officers were able to locate and rescue the victim, charging the male responsible with trafficking her.

This week, 23-year-old Moses Gregory of Toronto pleaded guilty to procuring among numerous other charges.

Procuring includes but is not limited to the controlled direction or influence over the movements of a person to engage in or carry out sexual acts with any person, as well as deriving financial gain as a result.

Gregory returns to court in May to be sentenced.

Because this case is still before the courts, South Simcoe Police Service will not be providing any further comment at this time.
