Two arrested in relation to rash of vehicle thefts reported in Bradford

The South Simcoe Police Service has made two arrests after ten vehicles were stolen in one night in Bradford.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at 7:30 a.m., police were called by residents who reported suspicious persons entering vehicles in the area of 6th Line and Simcoe Road.

Upon arrival, police learned two suspects had fled on foot but were arrested in a nearby farm field. Officers later determined that 10 vehicles were stolen from several Bradford neighbourhoods in the overnight hours of Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 to Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021.  

As a result of the investigation, 22-year-old Samuel Valentin and 20-year-old Rosa Vargas, both from Quebec, are jointly charged with a total of 21 offences including motor vehicle theft and possession of property obtained by crime.

Some of the vehicles have been recovered and the investigation is ongoing.
